Rally for the Valley
On June 1, 2012, 100s joined the Congressional Delegation from
Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor
Commissioners, staff from Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, members
of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Central Massachusetts Convention and
Visitors Bureau to Rally for the Valley at the River Bend Farm Visitor Center in Uxbridge, MA.
This was an exciting, informative and galvanizing afternoon event in support of the proposed legislation pending in Congress to create a permanent National Historical Park in the Blackstone River Valley. The event commenced at 3:00pm with fun for family and friends, including canoing and kayaking, cycling, wagon rides, historic presentations, and special guests, and where partners showcased their work, in an outdoor country fair atmosphere, by doing demonstrations, having samples available), presenting programs/projects, giving interpretative tours or offering hands-on activities all related to the work we are doing here in the Blackstone Valley.
