Sutton, MA: The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce 40th Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Pleasant Valley Country Club, 95 Armsby Road, Sutton, MA on Friday, November 16th from 7:30am to 10:00am.
This annual event presents a ‘year in review’, which showcases the Blackstone Valley Chamber’s achievements over the past year. The BVCC has been extremely active in 2018 making new strides in economic development and educational opportunities. You are invited to re-live some of the BVCC’s favorite moments and hear from a very prestigious guest speaker. The incoming Board of Directors is elected at this event, and Chamber Members are recognized for their accomplishments during the traditional awards ceremony.
The event welcomes keynote speaker, Michael Dukakis, former Governor of Massachusetts from 1975 to 1979 and again from 1983 to 1991, presiding over a period of economic growth known as the “Massachusetts Miracle”. He is the longest-serving governor in Massachusetts history and only the second Greek-American governor in U.S. history, after Spiro Agnew. He was nominated by the Democratic Party for president in the 1988 election, losing to the Republican candidate, Vice President George H. W. Bush. Since leaving office, Dukakis has served on the board of directors for Amtrak and has taught political science at Northeastern University and UCLA. He is also the Governor who commissioned the Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor over 30 years ago.
We will be presenting awards to those in our community who have gone above and beyond in categories such as Community Leadership, Economic Development, Volunteering, and of course the Gerry Gaudette Extra Mile Award. There will also be a full breakfast buffet available for guests to enjoy, along with coffee and tea. Thank you to UniBank, the 2018 Presenting Sponsor of the 40th Annual Meeting.
Tickets are $55.00 for members and $65.00 for non-members; table of 10 for $575. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Reserve your sponsorship today!
