WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS, March 13, 2012 … Dena M. Hall, president of the United Bank Foundation, announced a total of $6,500 in grants awarded in support of community initiatives in Worcester during the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.
The Worcester Community Action Council received $4,000 from the Foundation to support its low-income home energy assistance program. Worcester’s Center for Living and Working, an independent living center, received $2,500 to help fund its Transition to Adulthood Vocational Internship Program

The United Bank Foundation has awarded more than $1.4 million in grants since it was established in 2005 as a permanent source of funding to benefit communities in United Bank’s market area. The Foundation Board of Directors meets quarterly to review requests submitted by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in cities and towns served by United Bank branches in the greater Springfield and Worcester regions.
