BLACKSTONE VALLEY, MA – From November 1st thru November 15th, the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Success Network Community Support Committee will be holding a Senior Collection Drive for the elders within our community. Collection bins will be placed throughout the Blackstone Valley for pick up.
Millbury Federal Credit Union branches, Homefield Credit Union branches, UniBank’s Blackstone Valley (Blackstone, Douglas, Grafton, Whitinsville Main Office, Whitinsville Plaza, Sutton North, Upton and Uxbridge) branches, the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce (670 Linwood Ave. Suite 5, Whitinsville) and the Whitin Community Center will each have a collection bin where essential items can be dropped off, then delivered to local senior groups and organizations for distribution. The goal of this collection drive is to help our seniors obtain what they need and would enjoy, as well as feel supported by their local community.
Some of the items that would be helpful for this Senior Collection Drive would be toiletries, paper goods, cleaning supplies, large print books or puzzles, adult coloring or game books and pencils, and boxes of Holiday or Greeting Cards. We will also be collecting gas, grocery and pharmacy gift cards; however, these will only be collected at the Member Services Desk at the WCC (60 Main Street, Whitinsville). Also, if you are interested in helping with pick-up and delivery of donations, please contact us at administrator@blackstonevalley.org.
Help make a difference in the lives of our local senior group, as they have certainly made a difference in ours, and remember, each and every donation will have an impact.
